UNLV is a doctoral-degree-granting institution of approximately 30,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty and staff that is classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a research university with high research activity. UNLV offers a broad range of respected academic programs and is on a path to join the top tier of national public research universities. As a strong partner in student learning, UNLV Libraries fosters critical thinking and lifelong learning with innovative services, entrepreneurial staff. The University Libraries are a gateway to more than 80,000 electronic journals and 1.7 million books, outstanding digital collections and up-to-date technology. As a relatively new library, the Health Sciences Library (HSL) operates as a start-up culture within an established University structure. The HSL is a complementary team of librarians and information associates who support each other in education, research, and clinical outreach across the health sciences.
