Company Overview
Our Mission
The Pepperdine Libraries provide a global gateway to knowledge. At the academic heart of our educational environment, our libraries are sanctuaries for study, learning, and research, encouraging discovery, contemplation, social discourse and creative expression. As the information universe continues to evolve, our goal is to remain responsive to users’ needs by providing seamless access to both print and digital resources essential for learning, teaching and research.
Our Resources
The Pepperdine Libraries provides access to more than 1,100,156 items which includes 377,955 volumes, 358,366 electronic books, 36,656 print and electronic journals, and 109,960 physical and electronic media items. The Library provides services to nearly 7,826 students and 678 faculty located in multiple locations in and around Los Angeles and internationally.
The Boone Special Collections and Archives at Pepperdine University holds 10,600 rare books and 140 processed collections. The department’s collections are stored in an NEH grant-funded sustainable preservation and storage system, many of which are accessible to the public online through the Pepperdine Digital Collections. Pepperdine’s digital offerings include historic photography collections, digitized archival materials, and a wealth of scholarly material published on the Libraries’ digital publish platform, Digital Commons @ Pepperdine.
Our Team
The Pepperdine Libraries has an enthusiastic staff of 75 library personnel comprised of 17 librarians, 19 support personnel, and 39 library student workers who are committed to providing excellent service to Pepperdine’s scholarly community.
Location
Located in beautiful, coastal Malibu, California, Pepperdine University is a top ranked, faith-based university committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Christian values, where students are strengthened for lives of purpose, service, and leadership. Pepperdine’s Malibu campus is home to Seaver College, the Pepperdine School of Law, the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, the Pepperdine School of Public Policy and the Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Three libraries on the Malibu campus (Payson, Harnish Law and the Drescher Campus Library) serve these schools. Nine additional libraries serve Pepperdine’s graduate campuses located around the greater Los Angeles area and international programs of study located in Europe, Asia, and South America.
