Located near the Cascade Mountain range in Ellensburg WA, Central Washington University is a dynamic institution of around 12,000 students. Beginning as a Normal School in 1891, CWU places the highest priory on teaching, learning, and student success, and is among the top two schools in the state for attracting transfer students. CWU ranks among the top 50 LGBTQ+ friendly universities and serves a population of students where 40% are from traditionally under-represented student groups. The CWU Libraries is a key collaborator on campus, and recently received IMLS and Big Read grants, as well as a state grant for increasing Open Educational Resources in the campus curriculum.
