Founded in 1896, the University of Montevallo is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC), a national alliance of leading liberal arts colleges in the public sector.  With an enrollment of approximately 2,600 students, Montevallo offers baccalaureate and master’s degree programs with an emphasis on high quality education and innovative teaching.  Adjacent to Birmingham in one of Alabama’s fastest growing counties, Montevallo provides attractive living in a moderate climate with ready access to metropolitan and recreational resources.
