The Connecticut State Library, established in 1854, is an Executive Branch agency of the State of Connecticut. The mission of the Connecticut State Library is to preserve and make accessible Connecticut’s history and heritage and to advance the development of library services statewide. The Connecticut State Library is centrally located in scenic New England and administers the State Library, the State Archives, and the Museum of Connecticut History, all of which document the rich history of the state and serve its residents.
