LOCATION:
Rocky Bluff Library, 6750 US Hwy 301 N, Ellenton, FL 34222


HOURS:
Tuesday - Saturday, Hours: Varies, 40 hrs/week (inc. evenings)


Serves as liaison between library staff and Manatee County Schools, Head Start programs, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten programs, and community and government organizations serving youth. Coordinates programs and activities with school librarians, teachers, parent groups, and community organizations. Develops and conducts programs for children, tweens, and teens, both on premise and off site. Performs collection development for children's resources including selecting, ordering, and evaluating the collection for balance, timeliness, and comprehensiveness. Provides reader advisory services for ages birth to 18. Coordinates volunteer staff and teen advisory board. Provides literacy instruction for parents and children.

Minimum Qualifications


Master’s degree in library science from a university or college accredited by the American Library Association


Prior library work experience desired
Previous experience working with youth desired
Comfortability doing outreach
Familiarity with maker spaces and developing STEM based programs
