2 Academic Professional Librarian Positions

Health Sciences Librarian: The Health Sciences librarian will collaborate with another health sciences librarian to promote the discovery, use and integration of library resources and services to faculty, staff and students in ASU’s College of Health Solutions and the College of Nursing and Health Innovation.  The librarian should be a self-starter and able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and changing academic environment.  Responsibilities include: reference service, faculty liaison, and other specialized public services (orientation, instruction and advanced reference) for all health sciences programs.  The health sciences librarian  works as a member of a single, collaborative organization and serves students, faculty, and staff at Arizona State University on all four campuses, as well as online.  This is a continuing track academic professional position, and  reports to the Director, Downtown Phoenix campus Library.

Required Qualifications: ALA-accredited Master of Library/Information Sciences degree to be completed by date of hire; knowledge of and/or training in the use of current information resources in medicine, nursing and allied health sciences.

Salary: $45,000 minimum; rank of Assistant or Associate, depending on experience


Digital Projects Librarian: The Digital Projects Librarian will work across Library departments to define and implement research data management and repository services at Arizona State University. The digital projects librarian will serve as the liaison for digital projects, data management and repository services for faculty and students on all campuses and in all disciplines and helps steward digital projects, build collections, and develop data management policies and workflows.  This is a continuing appointment track academic professional position and reports to the Associate University Librarian for Informatics & Cyberinfrastructure Services.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited Library/Information Science program, or an advanced degree in a data-intensive research field and 3 years of relevant experience in an academic or research setting; Demonstrated project  management experience; Extensive familiarity with common institutional repository systems, including issues, policies, service models, and strategies for securing content.

Salary: $45,000 minimum; rank of Assistant or Associate, depending on experience.
