The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu/jobs) is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Librarian for Electronic Resources and Systems. This is a 12-month, tenure-track, faculty position. UAM, one of eleven campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock. UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs.
Responsibilities: Manages the electronic resources collection and the integrated library system (Innovative Interfaces Inc.). Provides library reference and information literacy instruction to students, staff, and faculty; serves as liaison to academic units; and contributes to the development of goals, policies, and programs of the library. Performs other related library duties as assigned. Candidate must work some evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Candidate must have a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program in library and information science; a minimum of two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge of configuring and upgrading the integrated library system and troubleshooting customer access connection issues. Experience with managing and configuring a proxy server preferred. The candidate must exhibit efficient oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
