Recruiters at Conference

Listed below will be the names of employers who will have a booth in the ALA JobLIST Placement Center during the ALA 2012 Annual Conference in Anaheim, California. There will also be a list of employers who will participate in the Open House in the Placement Center on Sunday, June 24, 2012

For the ALA 2012 Annual Conference in Anaheim, the Placement Center will be open Saturday and Sunday, June 23 & 24, 2012; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (both days). Keeping checking back for updates.

Note: Job Seekers do not have to register for the conference to come to the ALA JobLIST Placement Center, or to use Placement services.

If you plan to attend the Annual Conference in Anaheim, be sure you come to the Placement Center to talk to employers. They are eager to talk to job seekers and will often grant an interview on the spot. If they are busy at the time you stop by, they may schedule an interview for a time that is later in the conference. You are free to walk around the Placement Center and talk to any and/or all of the employers there.

It is a good idea to complete the online registration as a job seeker so that you can upload your resume. Registration is FREE, and will give registered employers with an active online ad access to your resume. They will be able to contact you before the conference begins in order to schedule interviews. You may also want to bring extra hard copies of your resume with you to the Placement Center. If you have never registered as a job seeker on JobLIST, you can go to the registration page and register. Then you'll need to login. After you do this, you can click on update info, where you will be able to upload your resume.

Note: There will be additional employers at the conference. You can find more employers by doing a search for jobs. A red asterisk indicates which employers will be attending the conference. You can also view a list of only employers who will be attending conference. On the advanced search screen, (near the bottom) click on 'Only show ads placed by employers who will be attending the next Conference.' The results will give you a list of employers who checked that they will be attending conference.

More employers may be added to this list as we get closer to the conference, so be sure to check back often.

As part of its continuing efforts to help job seekers re-tool their skills and prepare for job searches, the ALA JobLIST Placement Center will sponsor a number of workshops and will host an Open House on Sunday, June 24, 2012 10:30 am - 12:00 noon in the Placement Center during the ALA Annual Conference. Representatives from various libraries and library-related organizations will be available to talk with conference attendees about their individual work environments as well as activities in and around their institutions (i.e. sports, arts, music, community involvement, etc). There is no cost to participate in the Open House.
