Make the most of our services for employers
In addition to providing one-stop shopping for job postings, ALA JobLIST offers features such as the Placement Service and profile subscriptions to keep employers more connected with job seekers.
Online ads
Make your job posting available 24/7 by placing an online ad on the JobLIST site. Ads are searchable by library type, job category, location, keyword, and more for increased access. Notification of your ad’s posting also goes out through ALA JobLIST’s RSS and Twitter feeds, and through distribution to job post aggregator sites.
If you're placing a print ad in American Libraries or C&RL News, the same ad can run online for a nominal fee.
Online ads run for 60 days, unless ALA JobLIST staff is asked to remove them sooner (does not apply to discounted promotions, such as Placement Ads during conference periods).

Print ads
Reach members of the American Library Association (ALA) and Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) most directly by placing your job ad in print in American Libraries and C&RL News.
American Libraries, the monthly newsmagazine of ALA, is sent to roughly 65,000 individuals and organizations worldwide. All ALA members receive the magazine as a perquisite of membership. American Libraries is published 6 times per year (bimonthly).
College and Research Libraries News (C&RL News), the monthly newsmagazine of ACRL, has a circulation of approximately 13,500 in the academic and research library market. All ACRL members receive the magazine as a perquisite of membership. It is published 11 times per year (monthly, with a combined July/August issue).
Print ads can run as line ads, which are largely unformatted blocks of running text charged on a per line basis, or display ads, which are designed ads charged based on size (full page, half-page, etc.). Advertisers may supply PDFs of their own display ads or text to be laid out in a standard, basic style by ALA or ACRL staff.

Placement Service subscription
Expand your thinking about ALA's Placement Service. Communicating with job seekers is no longer limited to Annual Conferences and Midwinter Meetings. Employers may now access the Placement Service year-round—with the requirement that they have an active online ad at the time.
With a Placement Service subscription, employers receive:
- the ability to search the profiles of registered JobLIST job seekers and download their résumés, and
- access to the JobLIST Communication Tool for contacting registered job seekers.
Employers participating in the face-to-face ALA JobLIST Placement Centers held at conferences and meetings will be able to indicate that they will be in attendance and can then use JobLIST to communicate with potential candidates.
Profile subscription
Provide in-depth information about your organization through a complimentary employer profile. Profiles can be added any time you have an active ad appearing on JobLIST. Once you subscribe, a link to your profile will appear at the bottom of all of your active online ads, your profile will link back to each ad currently active on the site that was placed through the same JobLIST Employer account, and your organization will be included in a master list of profiles available to JobLIST users.
